JOB SUMMARY

Team Members will work with InnerCity Struggle and participate in daily phone banking and door-to-door canvassing efforts in order to educate voters on important ballot measures and community efforts that will bring in more resources and equity to low income, BIPOC communities. Phone bankers/ Canvassers will also assist in recruiting voters to join the movement by opting them into our network.

DAILY ACTIVITIES

• Contact registered voters by going door to door and/or phone banking.
• Reach daily and weekly benchmark goals for the number of voters contacted and supporters identified.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
• Ability to work Sunday-Thursday 3:00pm-8:00pm (with the possibility of  Fridays from 3 pm - 8 pm)
• Must attend a mandatory orientation and training!
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as ability to connect with diverse people, always maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Follow Civic Engagement Program Script to engage voters
• Must be professional and able to work well in a team.
• Maintain organization and accuracy when recording canvassing/phoning activities or maintaining their materials.
• Must arrive on the correct date, time and location during designated times, attendance is mandatory for all dates
• Must be able to use a cellphone, laptop, zoom, web browser and canvassing application.
• Be able to read a street map, and feel confident talking to voters on the phone and going door to door.
• Team Members with a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation will be provided with a gas stipend.
• Canvassers must be prepared to work in all types of weather, complete light physical activities such as standing or walking for long periods of time and be able to carry up to 10 pounds.
• Support additional Cali Calls (We Are California, Power California, and InnerCity Struggle programming and events as requested)
• Must provide proof you are presently eligible to work in the United States
• Must be over 18 years of age

PREFERRED

• At least a highschool diploma or GED.
• Prior canvassing or phone banking experience.
• Driver with a valid driver's license and proof of insurance

Schedule and Wages

20-25 hours a week

Start early/mid September - November 5th

Sunday-Thursday 3:00pm-8:00pm (with the possibility of Fridays from 3 pm - 8 pm)
