The Development Lead serves as a fractional independent contractor responsible for leading Orpheus Chamber Orchestra's fundraising strategy and philanthropic growth. Working closely with the Executive Director and senior leadership, the contractor will develop fundraising plans, cultivate and steward major individual donors, oversee grant management systems, supervise development staff, support board fundraising efforts, coordinate fundraising events, prepare donor communications, and strengthen internal fundraising processes. The role also includes managing donor portfolios, tracking fundraising performance, collaborating with marketing and artistic teams, and ensuring timely grant reporting and donor stewardship. This hybrid consulting position requires significant nonprofit development experience, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to independently lead strategic fundraising initiatives while attending key concerts, board meetings, and fundraising events.
