The LA 4 Youth Lead Organizer will organize YJC members and communities to build a base of system impacted young people and their families. The campaign focus for this position is to support the implementation of Youth Justice Reimagined, and launch of the LA County Department of Youth Development with greater accountability to impacted youth. The vision towards our long term goal of abolishing youth incarceration in LA County and freeing all young people from probation supervision and custody.

  • Supports coordination of FREE LA youth mobilization to LA Youth Uprising Coalition and relevant youth justice action and events
  • Support with political education and curriculum workshops for students, youth and staff

  • Background in Community Organizing
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Works well under pressure

Salary: $70,000 / annual (based on experience)

Expected Hours of Work: 40 hours / weekly

Classification:  Full Time Position

Reports To: The LOBOS Organizing Director.

Period of Employment: 12 months

Benefits: Medical, dental, vacation

Evaluation: At the end of the first 3 months, and at end of 6 months

Evaluation: At the end of month 1, month 3 and then annual performance evaluations to follow.
