Description

The Arizona’s Future Fellowship, provided by the Aliento Organization, is a year-long leadership development program that centers on advancing education and immigrant rights through civic engagement and policy. High school and college students will plan and execute at least 3 creative events on campus to inform, advocate for, or support access to higher education, mental health, and issues affecting students from different immigration backgrounds. One event must be an Aliento resources event, one event must be awareness of an education/immigration issue, and one event must be a mental health & art event. Fellows must attend monthly Saturday cohort meetings, attend the Training for Education Day and Education Day, and recruit a team of students and one school staff member. Fellows will receive guidance and training from Aliento mentors on leading the events and networking to build the team. To be eligible to apply, applicants must be enrolled in an Arizona high school or college, can commit at least 10 hours a week for 10 months from August to May, and fulfill all roles and responsibilities. Fellows will receive a stipend of up to $4,000. The deadline to apply is July 12.
