The Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) Summer Institute is a supportive 6-week summer program that provides students interested in pursuing a health career (physician assistant, psychologist, doctor, dentist, etc.) with the skills and resources to strengthen their preparedness for entering the medical profession. Benefits of the program include mentorship from health professionals, skill development through street medicine, $1,800 stipend, and more. Applicants must be pursuing a pathway in Pre-Medical or Pre-Physician Assistant studies, and identify as educationally or economically disadvantaged. Applicants must also be an undergraduate student, gap year student, or post-baccalaureate student. Chosen applicants will be invited for an interview, and if accepted, they must attend orientation on June 22, 2026, at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Los Angeles.
