Description
The High School Leadership Program aims to inspire and motivate current 10th and 11th graders to become future leaders through public service. Students can apply to the Statewide Leadership Conference and the regional institute that they are eligible to apply for in their region, which include the Bay Area Institute, the Central Valley Institute, the Inland Empire Institute, and the Los Angeles Institute. The four regional institutes are three days long and offer impactful programs designed to develop students’ leadership potential and increase their knowledge of the region’s cultural and political landscape. Institute participants connect with education, business, political, and community leaders and receive encouragement in their pursuit of post-secondary educational opportunities. Housing, meals, and program materials are provided at no cost to the participants or their families. Applicants must provide three essays, a letter of recommendation, high school transcripts, and demographic information.
