The Department of Economic Opportunity of LA County is accepting applications for the Sidewalk Vendor Formalization Grants. This grant is for sidewalk vendors operating in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County to help their business get permitted and compliant with the County’s Sidewalk Vending Ordinance. The grant is distributing payments of $500 to $5,000 towards eligible permitting expenses. To be eligible to apply, applicants must be self-employed sidewalk vendors, operate in the unincorporated areas of LA County, have or seek a Sidewalk Vending Registration Certificate (SVRC), must have started their business prior to March 2023, must have experienced financial loss as a result of COVID-19 during March 2019 to 2023, have an income of less than $100,000, must not have received a COVID-19 recovery grant funded through ARPA, and must be in good standing with the Health and Safety. Necessary documents to submit include an ID, seller's permit, SSN or ITIN, and a DBA/Fictitious Filing if the business name does not include the applicant's last name. Applications are open until funds are exhausted.
