Description
FWD is seeking a Communications Intern for its Washington, D.C. office. The intern will support the organization's immigration and criminal justice work with press releases, op ed campaigns, newsletters, and talking points that positively shape public opinion on these two topics. Interns will also help execute strategies to grow FWD's social media, work alongside team managers to maintain reporter contacts, and support the office's day-to-day operations. Qualifying applicants must have a strong interest in immigration and criminal justice reform, strong organizational skills, familiarity with media relations operations, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. This full-time position begins June 1 and lasts through the summer. Interns will be expected to work Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm at $21/hr. Interns must work onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and can work remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays.
