The 2026 Harbor-UCLA Summer Urban Health Fellowship (SUHF) is seeking high school, undergraduate, and medical students for a 6-week program on community-oriented primary care. Fellows will learn about healthcare disparities in marginalized communities, develop the fundamentals of community needs research, and develop innovative programs to empower communities. Mentors provide fellows with public health lectures, experiences in community-based research, and an opportunity to shadow in clinical and street medicine. Fellows will provide community health education through public talks and plan and hold a health fair in the local community. The fellowship runs from June 15th to July 24th, and is full-time with some weekend and evening commitments. It is based at the Gardena High School campus in Gardena, CA. Applications close March 7th, 2026, and may include a virtual interview. No housing or transportation is provided to participants.
