Description

The Denver TaCO Student Correspondent is a stipend-based educational internship for college juniors and seniors majoring in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Political Science, or related fields. Interns will assist Juntos Community in its goal of empowering undocumented immigrants through supporting DACA recipients and immigrant communities. A core responsibility for interns is ICE-related reporting, which includes summarizing and contextualizing information already reported by trusted sources, and translating verified information into accessible 2–3 minute videos. Interns will not conduct field verification of ICE raids, approach enforcement officers, or investigate active enforcement scenes. Additional responsibilities include video journalism, on-camera reporting, video editing & production, and taco review field production. The last responsibility includes visiting local taco spots in Denver to capture B-roll, conduct interviews, and provide neighborhood storytelling. The internship lasts 10-12 weeks from mid-March to Late May. The pay is a $1,250 stipend paid in installments. Deadline to apply is March 16, 2026.
