The MAAC and the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego are accepting applications for the Colibrí­ MX Scholarship, which offers a minimum of $1,500 to eligible students enrolling in college for Fall 2026. To be eligible to apply, applicants must be a senior high school student or currently enrolled in college, be enrolled for the Fall 2026 semester, have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, demonstrate financial need, and reside within San Diego County. Applicants must also submit additional documentation, including proof of residence in San Diego, academic transcripts with GPA stated, a copy of the college acceptance letter, an essay response, and, if the applicant identifies as being of Mexican or Latinx heritage, a copy of their birth certificate or other form of identification that reflects their heritage. The deadline to apply is May 31.
