The TransLatin@ Coalition is seeking a Training Specialist. The ideal candidate for the Training Specialist (TS) position will be working closely and under the direct supervision of the Training Coordinator (TC) and collaborating with the police department. The TS will be responsible for conducting transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex (TGI) cultural transformation training sessions for local LAHSA-funded Shelters, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), or Governmental Agencies and other agencies as requested. These training sessions will focus on multiple critical aspects ranging from fostering inclusive environments, expanding dominant narratives of gender, going over terminology, addressing conscious and unconscious bias, explaining TGI barriers and issues, and establishing effective standard practices and policies. These training sessions are vital in creating higher standards of care and increased access to social services that will improve the support and assistance available to the TGI community.
