Description

We are seeking experienced community-centered presenters for a paid, in-person workshop series serving residents in Westlake, near MacArthur Park. These workshops provide practical information, tools, and resources to community members. The workshops will take place during the weeks of March 2 and March 9, Monday to Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm, and Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm. Presenters will be paid $400 to deliver one 1-hour session per week for two consecutive weeks (same material both weeks to allow community flexibility in attendance). Topics needed include "Empowerment, Rights, & Community Resources," "De-escalation, Communication & Conflict Avoidance," and "Situational Awareness & Community Safety." Presenters may have backgrounds in community organization, legal education, public service navigation, safety training, mutual aid, or culturally grounded conflict resolution practices. Preferred applicants are community-based practitioners, grassroots organizers, service providers, and educators with lived experience supporting impacted communities. To apply, include a brief description of your background, proposed topic, and availability during the listed dates and times. Add in the subject line "March Speaking Engagement."
