Description
The Young Black Climate Leaders (YBCL) Youth Futures Fund supports young Black climate leaders' initiatives and projects that advocate for community participation toward racial and climate justice. Funding is based on the project's phase and can be used to cover expenses related to the project. Soil is the $2,000 funding tier for projects in the idea phase. Seed is the $6,000 funding tier for projects beyond the idea phase that need support to scale. Water is the $8,000 funding tier for established projects seeking to expand impact. Grow is the $10,000 funding tier for well-established projects. Qualifying projects must be completed in a community or group setting and align with a community-driven approach that centers on the needs, impact, and solutions to and within the community. Applicants for this fund must Identify as Black, African, Afro-Latinx, and or part of the Afro-Indigenous diaspora. Applicants must also be based in the US and its territories, be 18-28 years old, and be available to complete a ZOOM interview between May 11th and 15th.
